A brief introduction to the field of forensic psychology during which we will seek to clarify what a forensic psychologist does and how this rather mysterious field of study benefits society, looking at some key areas such as the identification, detection, and treatment of crime and criminals.

An introduction to forensic psychology – Autumn 2015

Forensic_psychologyThis introductory course will provide you with a basis for understanding crime, criminal behaviour and criminal justice. The tutor will present a range of psychological theories, viewpoints, and case studies relating to why offenders commit certain crimes. We will also cover issues relating to the imprisonment and treatment of offenders and will consider society’s view of offending behaviour.
